About Fob Battery Match

We answer one question: which battery does your car key take?

Most battery charts give one answer per model. In practice a single model year can come with several key types that take different batteries — a push-button smart key and a key-start remote, for example. We list every key type the manufacturer documents, show the official source for each answer, and help you work out which key you have.

When an official source doesn't name the battery, we say so instead of guessing. Read our methodology.

How the site is funded

Some pages link to retailers. If you buy through those links we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never affects which battery we list. See the affiliate disclosure.
