How to tell if you have this key
- The Intelligent Key contains a removable mechanical key; Nissan's procedure starts by removing it.
- This manual lists no other remote key type for battery replacement.
Replacement steps (summarised from the manual)
- Remove the mechanical key from the Intelligent Key.
- Insert a small screwdriver into the slit and twist it to separate the upper part from the lower part. Use a cloth to protect the casing.
- Replace the battery. Do not touch the internal circuit or terminals, and hold the battery by its edges.
- Reassemble the key, then operate the buttons to check it works.
Key programming: Not stated in the official source.

Battery safety
- Keep coin batteries away from children. A swallowed coin cell can cause severe internal burns within hours. If you think a battery has been swallowed or placed in the body, get medical help immediately.
- If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the key and keep it away from children.
- Hold the new battery by its edges and avoid touching the circuit board or contacts.
- Replace only with the same type, and recycle the old battery according to local rules.
If the key still doesn't work
- Check the battery orientation and that the cover is fully closed.
- Make sure the new battery is the exact code listed above — similar sizes are not interchangeable.
- If the buttons still do not work, contact a franchised dealer. We do not cover key programming or security systems.
